After making the decision to bring and keep happiness in your life, define what a happy life means to you. Then, self reflect on the areas in your life that do not meet your definition, and plan for change.
Rewire your brain toward happiness being a tangible thing that you can define, actively do and maintain.
OPEN UP TO HAPPINESS
- Get quiet and settle down
- Put the news on pause
- Take stock of the good things in your life
- Learn something new
- Say a little prayer or meditate
- Tune out toxic friends, family, or co-workers
- Find your happy place
- Take a spiritual retreat
GET TO YOUR HAPPY PLACE
FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE THINGS. To find happiness and stay happy, it is very important to train your brain to focus on the positives instead of the negatives.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND ENJOY. It’s hard to be happy when you are always doing things you don’t like. Find what you love, then start and keep doing it more.
HELP OTHER PEOPLE AND GIVE BACK TO SOCIETY. Sometimes we feel happier when we help someone else.
GET PLENTY OF REGULAR EXERCISE. It is proven to reduce stress and release endorphins, which help you feel great.
EXPLORE THE NATURE AROUND YOU. Time spent in nature will refresh and uplift for your mood.
LEARN TO LET THINGS GO (especially negative things). To cling to grudges, anger, resentment is to hold them onto you. Shed these negatives to make room for positives.
LISTEN TO MUSIC…AND YOUR HEART. The positive effects of music are similar to being in nature, a balm for your soul.
